Four Tops back in R&B album chart for first time in 23 years

    Hi,

The Four Tops get their first entry in the US R&B album chart this week for 23 years.

"S.O.U.L." is new at 65 this week.

Their last entry on this chart was Indestructible in 1988.

I don't have any chart info.

But the S.O.U.L. series is released by Sony, and is compilations of hits from acts like Aretha, Gladys Knight and the Pips, Dionne Warwick and others.

That is excellent! I bought "Indestructable" upon release. It hardly seems like 23 years already. In any case, congratulations to the Four Tops!

Thank you Copley! It must have been a tough job selecting just 10 tracks for this CD.

It's disappointing that an album of such poor quality has made the R&B charts. This album is just a re-release of the numerous Four Tops live albums that have been put out over the that 2 decades and non of then deserve chart success. Wish the un-released album the Tops did on there return to Motown would be released, I'm sure that would make the charts and put them back where they belong.

TSMG, unfortunately, this is what is going on these days; sales have fallen a long way; perhaps a lot of what is available these days isn't that appealing; so those two factors combine to allow oldies packages to sell.

Also, the Greatest Hits packages keep selling very constantly...........little by little and they never go away.
