Earth Wind and Fire, Gladys Knight set for 2011 Soul Train 'legend' Awards

Legendary recording artists Earth, Wind and Fire and R&B/soul singer Gladys Knight will be honored at the 2011 Soul Train Awards. Confirmed as "legend award' recipients Monday, both acts will be honored when the annual celebration of music takes place in November.

"Celebrating 40 years, the 3rd annual SOUL TRAIN AWARDS will honor the longstanding careers and musical influences of the renowned group Earth, Wind, and Fire and "Empress of Soul" Gladys Knight," BET/Centric reported Monday.

It is unclear who might pay tribute to the iconic acts, reponsible for hits like "September" and "Midnight Train To Georgia," at this point.

The 2011 Soul Train Awards, hosted by Cedric The Entertainer, are slated to air Sunday, November 27 on BET and Centric.
