    Love Peace & Happiness

I listened to a couple of songs from this group on YouTube, but can't seem to find my favorite. I loved their version of the Gladys Knight & the Pips "I Don't Want To Do Wrong". Does anyone know where I can get this on a CD? I have the New Birth version, but there is something about Ann Bogan's voice that has always made me want to hear it again. Love Peace & Happiness was a group that ended too soon.

"A comprehensive package of producer Harvey Fuqua's concept, New Birth Inc. consisted of the Nightlighters, Love, Peace & Happiness, and New Birth. The Nightlighters' "K-Jee" was the first hit out the box, scoring before New Birth; the lively, festival-sounding instrumental has enjoyed an amazing longevity. It's still popular at the halftimes of football games and on classic radio shows. Love, Peace & Happiness, which featured Anne Bogan and two Wilson brothers, who also sang with New Birth, are represented by one number, a soul-dripped version of "I Don't Want to Do Wrong," the Gladys Knight & the Pips smash. New Birth is well represented. Their deep soul rendition of "Dream Merchant" still sends shivers up and down one's spine, as does "Wild Flower" and the poppish "It's Impossible," sung by Londee Loren. Attempts at disco are less pleasing, but on this package the songs "I Wash My Hands of the Whole Damn Deal," "Comin' from All Ends," and "Keep on Doin' It" are more palatable. ~ Andrew Hamilton"

Re Youtube, I saw this in one of the comments:
This should actually read I DON'T WANT TO DO WRONG by LOVE, PEACE & HAPPINESS. Though L.P & H was a part of New Birth, if you try to look it up under their name, you won't find it. Anyway, Ann Bogan, who is an excellent singer in her own right, is a former Marvelette and performed this song, written by former Marvelette Katherine Anderson Schaffner, on stage as a surprise to her friend Gladys Knight, who was in the audience.

see my post on Harvey Fuqua on the Motown forum for more on Ann Bogan
