    Chic Keyboardist Jones Dies


    Former Chic musician Raymond Jones has died at the age of 52.

    The star passed away from pneumonia in Georgia on 1 July [[11).

    A native of Queens, New York, Jones began his career in the spotlight at 19, when he joined disco group Chic as a keyboardist.

    They scored chart hits with Le Freak and Good Times, but he left the band in 1981 after just three years.

    The songwriter and producer went on to work with a host of big names, such as Sister Sledge [[We Are Family) and Diana Ross [[Upside Down).

    He also collaborated with Talking Heads and Chaka Khan.

    How sad. They are leaving us so young. I remember he did some work on a few Spike Lee soundtracks. Rest in peace.

    I believe so. You may also recall that Tony Thompson passed a number of years ago.

    This is a shock to me, I talked to him two weeks ago for about a minute. I had no idea he was ill. This is very sad news.
