    Olmstead sound studios

Was there an Olmstead Sound Studios in Detroit as well as New York. I'm looking at the "Don't Forget About The Motor City" page and I see credits for that studio.
Also, what was Specialty Recordings in Detroit? Was there anything of note recorded there? Thank you.

    Mike,
I'm not sure I remember an Olmstead Studio. Specialty Sound was not the greatest studio in the world and I'm not sure if I remember anything of note being recorded there. They were primarily servicing the advertising business with voice-overs and such

Good work, Tamla. I guess I wasn't thinking far enough back.

Thanks everyone. It could have been Olmstead Sound in New York. I know Berry Gordy did some sessions there in the late
    '50s and early '60s.

Specialty had a fair amount of Soul cuts recorded there during the early and middle '60s [[according to Ron Murphy).

Berry Gordy and Gwen Gordy perhaps used Olmstead to finish off recordings made for George Goldner's labels [[The Five Stars on Mark-X, and End Records, Miracles on End, David Ruffin [[Little David Bush) on Vega Records, Voice Masters on Anna 101 an 102, early Jackie Wilson recordings.
