I say it was "That Girl" from 1982. What do you say?

The last one that I really liked was FOR YOUR LOVE from 1995.
One that stands out for me was the song These Three Words.
Signed Sealed Delivered...sorry, but that's the way it is...
Fingertips..... joking!
For me his last few albums have been mediocre overall but they do contain some gems.
Eamonn
'That Girl' for me too. WOW - that was 30 yrs ago!
I liked most of the "Hotter Than July" L.P. particularly "Overjoyed" and "Go Home" and that was in 1986 .. mind you even that is 25 years ago!!
Roger
1985: In Square Circle? ? ?
Part-Time Lover
I Love You Too Much
Go Home
Overjoyed
Those were my jams!
Let's see...Stevie's last good record/song/single. Well, "Ribbon In The Sky" was issued after "That Girl" and "Do I Do", so I say his last really good one was "Ribbon In The Sky", although an argument could be made for "Love Light In Flight"
Stevie's last good album is definitely "Hotter Than July". No question!
"That Girl" from Original Musicquarium I" is the absolute best that he did in the 80s.

Great singles since then
That Girl
Ribbon In The Sky
Part Time Lover
Overjoyed
Go Home
My Eyes Don't Cry
Gotta Have You
These Three Words
For Your Love
From the Bottom Of My Heart
Best collaborations
We Didn't Know with Whitney Houston
So Amazing with Beyonce
How Come How Long with Babyface
Stevie did a live DVD in 2008 called "Live At Last." I reccomend it for all Stevie fans. There were no new singles but his old stuff is timeless. Check out the "UK Medley" and "People Make the World Go Round" and "Spain." Stevie Wonder is still a mind blower.
For me, 'From The Bottom Of My Heart', from his 2005 album 'A Time To Love', was his last good single. The album itself was a return to form and sadly overlooked. I thought it was his best album since 'Hotter Than July'.
I thought the "Hotter Than July" album was a return to form for Stevie, sadly imho it was short lived, as he has not come anywhere near it since, which is a shame, as when he is on song he has few peers, maybe there's more to come, who knows.
hotter than july 1980.now i didnt get this 'till my birthday in 84.i checked discogs,i thought it was a new release when i got it.
except for happy birthday[[great sentiment btw,but not a track to listen to unless it is your birthday!)
For me, Stevie's last GOOD record was For Your Love. His last GREAT record was Skeletons [[not everyone's cup of tea, but I loved it).
The last Stevie album track that I enjoyed a lot was the Theme From Jungle Fever. Dumb lyrics but oh so catchy. It had a beat and you could dance to it.
That Girl, Lovelight in Flight, My Eyes Dont Cry [[ wow!)
His last one if really a good record :
"All About The Love Again" [[2009) is fantastic, so great to hear him blow every now and then for a few years...
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amAWRHdWoEk
I also do think that A TIME 2 LOVE is a real good album. Most of the songs wouldn't have sounded out of place on SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE. Add Paul Riser's arrangements, REAL Instruments, real drums, real piano, multi layered voices, parts sung by female voices à la Wonderlove, harmonica, etc...
"Passionate Raindrops" is a gem http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rEb35J04c2w
"Moon Blue" is another, his voice stronger than ever... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NruAm...eature=related
Back in 1990, "Keep Our Love Alive" is another favourite of mine

Overall I agree CONVERSATION PEACE is a huge let down
JB
Most of you beat me to it. I think his last GREAT record was Ribbon in the Sky!
too long ago ... "masterblaster"!
For me, two of Stevies all time great songs are "Tomorrow Robins Will Sing" [[1995) and "Positivity" [[2005), the latter featuring his daughter Aisha
Mmmmmm I Wonder?
TMSG
blimey!all that 60's and 70's stuff and you go no further than 16 years for your best two stevie tracks,i'm not saying you're wrong, because thats your choice.just amazed
...Crying Through The Night ...from 1987

Do i do......
I have to say that my personal favorite will always be "I Was Made To Love Her" from 1967 [[I bought the Japanese SHMCD reissue in Japan). I love the balance of original Stevie tunes like IWMTLH with classic Motown covers [[My Girl, Baby Don't You Do It, Can I Get A Witness) and soul covers [[Please, Please, Please, Respect, I Pity The Fool). I just never got into his sound from the 70s and 80s [[Living For the City, etc.), although I have a soft spot for "Superstition" because I used to watch the cartoon music video [[Disney's DTV specials) every Halloween when I was a kid :-)
-)
Vcq wow! only "Superstition" from "Talking Book" imo from the oft. played "You Are The Sunshine of My Life" to "I Believe [[When I Fall in Love It Will Be Forever)" the album is absolute joy to listen to & back in 1972 I wore out 3 copies in that year alone...thank goodness for CD's. Still that's the great thing about music one man's meat etc.
ace,i saw the concerts on tv from last years visit london o2? and glastonbury he is still brilliant.
I saw Stevie perform for a little over 3 hours at the Fox Theater in Detroit New Year's Eve 1994-95. He is brilliant.
I'm totally dating myself here, but I'll always remember Stevie's appearance on the Cosby show :-)

I agree with JB.
Stevie's last GOOD record will always be his last one.
All About The Love Again is a great number.
The last album was great too - A Time 2 Love. The best numbers on that for me were So What The Fuss and Shelter In The Rain.
Can't wait for Gospel Inspired By Lula.....
Ed
Ed,
to be honest, I've never been that impressed with CONVERSATION PEACE, the weak voice and overall sound of the album, the lack of real instruments and only average songs making it a huge let down. And albeit containing little jewels, THE WOMAN IN RED, IN SQUARE CIRCLE and CHARACTERS were not as fantastic albums as Stevie's albums up until the early 1980s.
JUNGLE FEVER was perfect
A TIME 2 LOVE IS perfect too
just my 2 cents
;-)
