Supremes' Ed Sullivan performances on iTunes

I know that iTunes is a program that many on this forum dread. I even used to tell others that I would NEVER use it. In the recent months, I have caved in and I actually enjoy using this program. While I will never stop listening to and buying physical music formats, iTunes is useful and convenient. For instance, there are a handful of Supremes videos available for download, such as their Ed Sullivan appearances, at $2.29 each. Not all of their appearances are available yet, but hopefully someday. For years, we have asked for a DVD of their Sullivan appearances and the executives at Sofa Entertainment have been less than enthusiastic [[or at least they were when I had e-mailed them in the past). By downloading/purchasing the individual videos of their performances on iTunes, I can at least create my own DVD.

The newest video that has been posted is the Supremes' performance of "Somewhere". I'm excited!

Carlo, I think this is the future of video content that companies deem too obscure, or the market too small for a conventional DVD release. I think in 20 years' time, virtually any tv show that still exists will be available for digital purchase. It makes no sense for companies to sit on all this content and not make any money off of it. Now if music companies would quit being so damned DEMANDING [[Universal wants 400$ per second) with their licensing fees, then everyone would come out a winner. Until then, we must settle for songs performed live, as opposed to lip-synched... so the record company's fingers don't have to be in the pie.

there is a sullivan box set of most of the rock and roll acts from the 60 s. One dvd is the Supremes and The temptations each set has 5 performances, the supremes have sullivan's show performances of Come see about me, love is like an itching, Forever came today, livin in shame, no matter what sign you are and up the ladder to the roof, definetly worth a watch I remember each performance from the era.
