this song was played very often on WABC in NY...so was Everybody's Got The Right to Love...I was very surprised in the internet age to see neither one was a top 10 record.

That’s the best live version I’ve ever heard. I like the album version, not the single version, and I’ve never really cared for it live before. Thank you for pointing this out!

The song is sweet and affecting, but agree with Motown in that it doesn’t work particularly well in a live setting.
