Sounds like "Up, Up and Away."
i'm guessing the first part is More
In the original post above, is anyone else seeing a requirement to enter a letter combination to proceed...and it keeps asking for another...and another...and another... without displaying or showing anything?
so if this footage exists, where's the rest of it! same with the fan footage of MJC in the white fringe jumpsuits. again there's no audio but a fan put All I Want from the JW album on the clip.
clearly these are fan footage. they're not professionally shot. wish these fans would stop being selfish and share! lol
perhaps it's more of the Orient footage? when they commissioned that camera guy to follow them around. they also filmed themselves at the Roostertail and used a lot of that in the "orient" footage too
someone mentioned that the initial idea was to perhaps use the video footage for a tv special? not sure how accurate that comment is but they did do a rudimentary title card at the beginning.
I don't think there's really any question that there exists a shit ton of video of the original Supremes in the hands of Berry and company. I think he saw the importance of filming his acts pretty early on. Not to mention with the money rolling in, and the elevation of status, filming all kinds of stuff, from parties to shows, was probably a regular occurrence. Will our eyes ever get to see much of this stuff? Time will tell.
Look how smooth the ladies look, moving in unison at the very beginning. Even from the back they are something to behold. Or am I biased?
Brad I don't think The Happening was in the show until April.
of course we're all biased! lol but facts are facts
Gil and all of the various teachers at Motown said the girls were just pretty much amazing. you could teach them just about anything. they were eager and willing. yes some of those teachers also made those comments about M and F not working as hard as diana. but then again, we've all recognized on here that Diana's work ethic was frankly just abnormal. it's clear that the girls were experts in showmanship. they had the training in both the classroom and the stage. they were CONSTANTLY performing and so they could really see what worked best with the audience.
i wonder if because this was the title track to a big film, if there wasn't more "early work" with the song. i'm not sure of exact time lines but seems like within a few weeks of releasing a song, they'd have it in the act. so maybe since this was a film soundtrack and a "big deal" because that wasn't very common back then, perhaps they had already prepared the routine and all
