"Way Over There" - who did the string arrangement?

The 1960 version by The Miracles. I don't think Sonny Sanders did this one. Anyone know who did? Thanks.

Riley Hampton did contract work for early Motown. Two known arrangements are I'll Try Something New and [[You Can't Let the Boy Over-Power) The Man in You. Would I Love You? is possibly another of his arrangements.

Motown had their early string arrangements done in Chicago by Riley Hampton. I would bet he did that for 54069 "Way Over There".

    Mike

We had this thread on SDF many years ago. I suspect you might have even raised it back then. Have you looked back in the archives. From my recollection, we have come to the same conclusion as we did then.

I've seen several SDF users have trouble with archive searches. The easiest way I've found is to plug your search phrase into Google followed by Soulful Detroit. If there are any hits, they're usually right at the top of the results page.

    Good luck,

    VCQ
