The play was awesome but the play indicated there was some interest between Melvin and Mary. Is that in the book ? I must have missed that. I have always thought the love interest was between Otis and Flo.

I believe Melvin had a little crush on Mary but they never did anything. When they appeared on Mike and Maty, I think Otis teased Mary about it a little.

I believe that Melvin had a definite interest in Mary. I thought I read that somewhere. I know Otis and Flo were. I think Mary liked Eddie Kendricks. Like any workplace environment, it is easy to get smitten when you work closely together.
