    Put Yourself In My Place.

Hi all..are there 2 unreleased versions of this song in the vaults as it states in DFTMC that The Elgins and Isley Brothers overdubbed their vocals to The Supremes version 1 of the track and Chris Clark overdubbed her vocals to version 2....the released version by The Supremes was their third version...The Elgins and Isley Brothers were overdubbed months apart to the same backing track so surely there must be a Supremes version still in the vaults.

Never say never, but... I would've thought that The Supremes' version 1 would've turned up with the compilation of WDOLG 40th... or Lost & Found. Their version 2 probably should've turned up [if it definitely existed] with the compilation of MH:EE. All we definitely know exists is their version 3 which had the mono, stereo, and an alternate version included on AGG:EE.

Again, never say never... but I'm thinking that version 1 may not have ever received Sups vocals and that version 2 may have had Sups vocals lost to overdubbing. If there was any possibility of another Lost & Found Collection on the '60s Supremes being given the green light by Universal [LOLOLOLOL], maybe versions 1 and 2 could be added to the search list. *SIGH*

Not necessarily. There are so many examples of tracks being cut and not having any vocals added for months. Version 1 and 2 only means the tracks were originally cut for the group. The girls likely never added their vocals to those first two tracks. Even if they did and were dubbed over by the Elgins and Isleys, the session logs/tape cards would have indicated their vocals were added and it would have mentoned in the track annotations in A' Go-Go: Expanded Edition.
