What a grand lady. I was fortunate enough to see her in concert before she retired
and her voice was still stunning. What a classy, elegant performer. I was able to meet
her backstage at an autograph signing and she had a great sense of humor. The lady
in front of me made a remark about her beautiful diamond rings. Leontyne said...honey, those are just my playthings! I can't remember the rings, but I do remember her dazzling smile and how gracious she was. An American legend, indeed.
