    Vanity Question

Hello all. I know she is not from the classic period but does anyone know if Vanity’s 2 Motown albums, Wild Animal and Skin on Skin were ever officially released on CD anywhere in the world? They are not even available for download or streaming. Did she purchase or buy back the masters when she became a minister?

Hi--as far as I can see, only bootlegs of each exist from an outfit called World Beyond Music-- and their Skin on Skin has different artwork. I wish I knew who owns the masters...I've been looking for these feverishly myself.

Thank you so much. The original Skin on Skin cover is stunning. Romantic Voyage is my favorite track from the album. Her two tracks on the Action Jackson soundtrack were very good too. At least that and The Last Dragon soundtracks were on CD.

My pleasure! Yes, the original SoS cover had that classic Hollywood-George Hurrell feel--gorgeous. And "7th Heaven" is still a bop!
