This is a clip from the sixties of Lola performing the Temptations "Don't Look Back" on Brazilian Television and she is looking hot!!!

At one time, Berry Gordy Jr. was courting her to piss Diana Ross off. Apparently, Lola Falana was the one female entertainer a lot of other female entertainers like Diana & Dionne Warwick, alledgedly were intimadated by Lola.
She was TOO HOT!
There was a photo of Gordy and Lola bellyrubbing at some event.
There was talk that he was going to sign her, but Lola didn't have a success record as a record seller. I can't remember if she was ever really signed by Gordy. She never had a Motown release.

Very professional, though, how she blends lead and backing vocals... the Tempts needed five men to accomplish that! They should've hired her [[and him, too) to bring MORE dance into their DLB routine.. LOL

Lola's portrait in THIS video makes me understand what Berry saw in her... a lot of Diane, a bit of Tammi, a bit of Barbara McNair, , Mary Wells, Carolyn Crawford, etc., etc.

Yes she was signed to the label and did record.

Skooldem, what you should do is:

click on "Go Advanced" then
click on the little paperclip "Attachments"

A pop up window will open, then
click on "Add Files" in the upper right corner, when the "browse" selection appears, click on it to locate your picture file that is on your computers hard drive.

select the picture file you would like to upload here and then click on "upload".

When it is complete, look to the bottom right corner and click on "done".

Then you just post your message with the picture as usual.

I think it was around 1979 or 1980. I believe that Berry was being honored by an organziation in California. Another shot from the event with Diana and her children appeared in JET.

It was taken in March 1980 when the Urban League honored Berry Gordy. I had to call someone to have them take a look at it, so I am pretty now that is when it was.

The last I heard, her condition had gotten much better, and she was preaching. But I haven't seen or heard about her in some time.
