"Nightflight" Tue Aug 12, 9P-12M ET:The More Mellow Side of Motown...

    Name: WOMRWFMRLOGOredux.jpg
Views: 248
Size: 13.1 KB

Hello, Nooks and Crannies! Tonight....welcome to the more mellow side of Motown. My favorite Motown songs have always been those strong, powerful and melodic productions....those you can dance to...those that build to a climax. And that's what I often play on the show. But that does leave out a lot of wonderful Motown. So tonight, I'm going to focus more on the more mellow Motown that I've missed. So please...do join me tonight for Motown Mellowness and MORE...on "Nightflight"....on WOMR 92.1 FM Provincetown and WFMR 91.3 FM Orleans and streaming live worldwide in digital stereo at www.womr.org
    Thanks!
    John

    Hi John,
I love their stuff on Motown which is nothing like the CD I have. I'd love to see Kent or Reel Music or someone else come out with a CD with what they sang for Motown.

I DO like the Motown stuff...but lots of echo and production helps the vocals. But I agree...they have some great Motown stuff!

Thanks. "That's How..." and "When You're Young And In Love" are my favorite Marvelettes' recordings. The Dells did a nice version of "That's How..." as well.

I can never get enough of Brenda Holloway. I met the pianist on this recording Lincoln Mayorga about 25 years ago. He was very proud that he got to play a part in the introduction of Brenda Holloway to the world.
