I did watch the whole interview when it was blogged live last night. But it was exhausting. The interviewers really did not even have to prepare for the interview as they had little chance to ask questions after Mary started talking non-stop. She would be talking about one thing, delve into a sub-topic and then come back to the original topic by saying "anyway". I lost track of how many times she did this. But it was exhausting.
This may just be her way of trying to get as much into a segmant as she can. I have spoken to her in person quite a few times, and once for a prolonged period and she was very different. Subdued, friendly, listening and not manic.
Thankfully, Mary did not do her Princess story, or Flo's Ave Maria.
When she gets on a roll there’s no stopping her. It distresses me when she does those impressions of Florence and of Princess Margaret. Neither woman sounded a thing like that. I assume she does it for what she might feel is comic effect, but to me it’s really rather insensitive. She could tell those stories without doing the impressions. Her effervescent presence is lighthearted enough without all that.
She has been known to get excited. I hope that if I am 76 years old someday that I will still be that excited about life. Her Princess Margaret's impression is funny to me. LOL!
It is kind of hard to believe that when she was born in 1996, Mary took her radio show from NYC to Las Vegas and did a live remote show from the hospital where her daughter delivered her granddaughter, Mia Marie. Mia graduated from college yesterday!!!
