Do you remember the 8 tracks?
I remember, but never used them.
Are they the same as what we called cartridges? No one I knew used them.
Yes. Was looking at an old car not long ago. Lo and behold there was an 8 track player. And it still worked!!!
Was the sound quality of 8 tracks/cartridges better than the cassette tapes?
No, never.
Ah! Glad I never tried them, then....
Lucky you, westgrand!
Funny how we never really know our luck in anything, until we look back and then realise it in hindsight- or someone else brings it to our attention.
Just too busy at the time, I guess...!
Sometimes things happen for a reason, westgrand.........and you benefitted from it!!
I'd rather do something and get the benefit.
Not doing something, and therefore suffering no loss by default [[but no chance of benefit either) seems negative to me, somehow....
Sometimes it's better to be lucky than good, westgrand.........
True! Luck is all around us, and in plentiful supply, yet doesn't exist until we recognise it.
Strange thing, perception.
Quite right..........
I remain, perceptively yours....
I can't remember which golfer said, "It's funny, but the more I practise the luckier I get".
Whoever it was, they got a hole in one....
And a free drink at the 19th hole!!!
I feel like a camel.
As long as you don't spit like one, westgrand!
When I do it, I'm elegant
It's the only way to be..........
I be what I be. Just sometimes, people ain't be buyin'....
If you get a hole in one, don't you have to buy everyone a drink rather than get a free one?
It depends on how the occasion is perceived, and by whom.
If it's your birthday, some will celebrate by buying you a drink. And some expect you to celebrate it by buying THEM one. Cheapskates!
If you get a hole in one here, westgrand, you buy the round!!
Then, unless I'm being paid to play, I'm not playing.....
So a spectator you shall be......
A reporter I shall be......
A reporter who shall imbibe on the sidelines.....
Sidelines generally suits me fine. Imagine a cat sat on a wall, observing the world as it turns. That's me.....
Well, then you should have your milk as you sit watching...........meow
Thank you moe, but water only, if you please. Milk often not so good for we pussy cats....
...but a little bit makes a nice occasional treat.
Just like a piece of pie, cookie, cake, etc...............
As milk can sometimes upset the digestion of feline pussy cats, then pie, cookie and cake would do exceptionally well as a treat, please - speaking just for this particular human form of pussy cat, of course.
And especially if any are made at home.
Do we have any home bakers here?

Cookies anyone?
Sounds good to me! Assuming you have yours with coffee, what's your favourite recipe?
Where do you want me to start? Lemon bars, 7 layer bars?
Lemon bars would do it for me! Recipe please, or internet reference - and hurry.....
7 layer bars? Operator - information please.....?
Those lemon bars were my father's favorite!!! I must look for the recipe!!
7layer bars have a layer of graham cracker with melted butter, coconut, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, Eagle Brand condensed milk, nuts. Simple!
Yes, look! And I'll look forward to that lemon bar recipe.
Will think about those 7 layer bars. They sound l-o-a-d-e-d. Coconut sounds good. Presumably there's a reason for using condensed milk....
Banoffee Pie also uses condensed milk.
Then that lemon bar recipe becomes ever more attractive......
PS. Your mail box is full........

Again?? Very popular!!
Somebody needs to explain to me how putting messages into folders works.
I think that may also include me.
Here on SDF, I think we're only made aware when we're advised by email that our mailbox is full, because someone has attempted to send us a personal message Otherwise, it seems we just have to monitor the totals......
Well well, it seems some of our friends here are VERY popular!!! I just keep track.
Well Moe, speaking for myself,I couldn't say I do such a lot of personal messaging, and certainly am not one for networking, although I much appreciate the SDF 'friends' I do have.
It's just that I don't immediately delete the messages, and I also keep copies of the 'sent' ones, so the maximum of 50 can be reached steadily over a period of time.
