Thanks for the news Marv2. Sorry to hear about Jack Scott. RIP
I just read this article, I think Jack was truly under rated, had some major hits and should have been a big guy on the oldie circuit .
My Jack Scott story was way back in the mid- 70's we both worked out at Armento's gym in Detroit and although I knew who Jack Scott was, I did not know what he looked liked. Well I was in the steam room and after I got out of the steam room, someone said - hey do you know who was in the steam room with you, well you guessed it - it was Jack Scott. Very unassuming guy.
I did get a chance to see him at a club later that year - somewhere in Warren- I believe on 8 mile, he was amazing .
Good Bye Baby Bye Bye.
I first met Jack while playing with The Sunliners. He would come in regularly to a club we were playing. He would eventually invite us to his house to listen to some of his latest work and get our opinions.
They still play Jack Scott records on a regular basis on the 50s channel on Sirius XM Satellite Radio.
I loved his voice and the song What in the World...
I just found this. Jack had a great voice:
This is one I am sure everyone has heard and remembers:
Interesting fact. Jack had 4 Top 10 R&B Hits and 4 Top 10 Pop Hits.
