The 60s Supremes recorded a ton of covers, especially when you factor in all the MOR stuff. From what I can tell, the MOR stuff is so great because it lends itself to different interpretations, so the Supremes fit right in that. Of their r&b/pop covers, I think the results varied more than the MOR stuff. There was nice covers like "Put Yourself In My Place" and "The Nitty Gritty". Some bad ones like "My Guy" and the second version of "Heat Wave". But one of the group's best covers IMO is "Aint That Good News". Even with a great cover, like "This Old Heart Of Mine", there aren't too many Supremes covers that I think beat out the original. But "Good News" is an exception. As much as I love Sam Cooke, his version of "Good News" has nothing on the Supremes' version. And the crowning jewel of the Supremes' version is the incomparable Florence Ballard.

So here's the official "Aint That Good News" APPRECIATION thread. Where my "Good News" fans at?
