I know Teena Marie did duets with Rick James and Ozone, were there any others she teamed up with on record?

Midnightman, I have to agree. All of the above were FUNKY!!!! I think I preferred the Temptations version of "Hum Along & Dance" more. The song with no words! LOL!

Nice choices, but on the Motown label, for me, there is nothing Funkier than this:

Now that was some serious Funk ChiDrummer. Rick was on it! He was also very smart. After he slowed things down a bit after my favorite "You and I" with "Mary Jane", he came back with "Bustin' Out"

Now here is the ONE! I remember when I first heard this record, it was like someone breaking through a brick wall or something. It was so different from what was out at the time. We were like "who is that?" LOL! Mr. Rick James and "You and I" [[long version):

I'm with you Marv on this one, one of Ricks greatest songs, here in the Windy City its was like who in the hell is that ?

Midnight man, your on point about Marvin Gaye and Got To Give It Up, although I didn't care for it at the time of its initial release, it became a Party Anthem that brought you to the dance floor and made the Soul Train line a mainstay at partys......

In the matter of the Temptations, nothing would exceed Poppa was a Rolling Stone....

Ooops almost forgot Lil Runaway where the Pointer Sisisters and Rick James blew the roof off......

Paladin! You know what I'm talking about. It was Spring, 1978 and we were going to the house parties and all the hot girls were there are ready to throw down! Someone put on Rick Jame's "You and I" and all heck broke loose!@LOL! Man I loved his music! I wished he was still with us badly.

Has anyone mentioned this stellar recording, at the time of its release it dam sure didn't sound like anything these young ears had ever heard and the bass line was killer, talking bout a funk party anthem, jumping jeez-us this record is still funky as hell:

For a little more bluesy grinding funk what about Cleo's Back, by Junior Walker........

For a bit more modern dance funk lets play I feel Sanctified by the Commodores and Plastic Man by The Temptations......

And just to top everything off how about Marvin Gaye's "Funk Me" ?
The precursor to "Got To Give it Up"......Once again the bass player went nuts......

Originals - "Down To Love Town" & the fast furious funk of "Overture" from the "Miacles City Of Angels" album.
