Rare Earth — Love Is Here And Now You're Gone [[Supremes Cover)

Here's something special. My favorite Motown Band from 1969-73 with Pete Rivera on lead:

Thanks Marv! Certainly an under rated group. I like the pace/tempo. Pete has a nice strong voice.

You are most welcome DET! Pete's vocals are excellent on this recording.

I miss the coughs/hiccups in the spoken spots!

I really enjoyed Rare Earth's cover and think the lead singer, Pete, was great. I guess because of the Supreme's version it never occurred to me that a male could do justice but Pete sure did.

Peter was not in the band when this song was recorded. The singer is Wayne Barracks who also performed on the Rare Earth albums Made In Switzerland and Different World, One other track was made with Ian Levine called Playing To Win. Peter did two tracks for Levine's label and they were Standing In The Rain and Talk To The World

I really don't like it at all...... Just reminds me of how Diana owns a song........Pass.

Just gave this a listen. That is not Pete Rivera singing. Kind of sounds like him in the lower registers, but not in the higher for sure.

Me, too. But hearing this I think Levi Stubbs could have torn it up. [[Also, David Ruffin, Eddie Kendricks,...)

The guy singing lead was trying to mimic Pete's sound from what I'm hearing.

This is about Rare Earth. I still question this being in the Supremes' Sub-forum.
