Who is the chick sitting down?
Who is the chick sitting down?
Wow! I've never seen this photo before. I love it! Have no idea who the girl is. Possibly Christine Schumacker [[sp) who won that contest that allowed her to record a version of The Supremes "Mother You, Smother You" for Motown???
This came up [[with picture) on old thread. I believe Christine Schumacker was white. I don't think the girl was ever identified?
Whoever she is she has the most exquisite feet.
The hair do's [[especially Diana's) remind me of their 1965 appearance on Shivaree. Possibly backstage or a rehearsal?
I like the way Miss Ross is kneeing her in the stomach for having the audacity to steal HER chair!
Even back then everyone knew that Miss Ross sits centre stage and the others stand somewhere...anywhere...behind.
It is Ariane Sorps, a model they met on their first visit to France.
HMMMMM. Why did they pose with her like they are a quartet and what did she have that they wanted?
Is this why Flo was called 'Blondie'?
Overall one of the sexier photos of Diana that I have ever seen.
Aside from this, I can't find any info about Ms. Sorps. Anyone???

Wonder if anyone knows whatever happened to Christine Schumacker? I have the recording she did. I think I read where she sang to pre-recorded tracks and the Supremes weren't around. Wonder if she's ever been interviewed in later years about her recording experience at Motown? Where is she now??

Well, in my opinion, the Supremes look more like models than her. Great photo! Thanks for sharing.
Tony Turner?
Could this be the same woman in a photo taken outside of Hitsville [[but different day, diff clothes)? Again the Supremes look more like models than her. I figured this was a secretary going on a lunch break or something.
Can someone post a clearer version here so we can compare the two images?
Florence was called Blondie since she was young because she naturally had lighter hair. Obviously in this photo she is
wearing a wig. Her Blondie name is explained, I think, in Mary's first book and also in Diana's book.
The caption in the link for the first pic says: "...for a photo session at the Detroit News studio on April 23, 1965." I believe both pics are owned by The Detroit News. Maybe the second pic was during Ms. Sorps' visit to the D.
It's Tina Duress.
She doesn't look like a model to me, but then what do I know about French models of the mid-60s.
Thanks for sharing these pictures. I never saw these.
If I didn't know anyone in that picture, I would think that Diana Ross was the model.
Great detective work guys. I think that is the same woman.
That photo, plus some other rare ones here:

Oh so that's Ariane - interesting.
Reese, she pranced around for a few weeks, eh? Maybe the photo caption for the girls outside Hitsville should be, Supremes: "I guess we showed her..!"
And she was never heard from again. LOL
Supremes: 3, Ariane: 0
OMG I am still laughing. The first picture now takes on a whole new meaning. That poor woman. She looks terrified. Almost like a prisoner. Diana even has her knee to her stomach.
