    Rip jane russell

Her passing is now being reported. I can't tell you how many times I've enjoyed her film, Gentlemen Prefer Blondes within the past few months.

She was a good actress and quite a beauty. She had a pretty decent voice too. I have one of her albums. Her solo number in "Gentlemen Prefer Blondes" [["Anyone Here For Love?") always brings a smile to my face. I've read many books on Marilyn Monroe and every single one of them says Jane and Marilyn got along famously. Which surprised many at the time. Jane had a good, long run and I will miss her. Rest In Peace Miss Russell.

Given how Howard Hughes promoted her for The Outlaw [[as just a pair of big breasts) she managed to become a very likable talented performer who had a sense of humor about her sex symbol image, which I think helped her connect with audiences than if she had been more than just a physical curiosity/sex object.
