Does anyone know what ever happened to the young lady that sung on this tune with Dennis? She did help make this song a smash hit.
If I remember correctly, she was managed by one of my clients, David Massey, when she did the Michael Jackson song. David was the nephew of Marion, the lady that discovered Lulu.

Is that a reccomendation John.....
It was a real coup for Siedah Garrett to have her name printed on Dennis Edwards' single [["featuring Siedah Garrett") when she was just an unknown. I think her printed credit on the single was a statement by the producers aimed at a more famous female singer who could not make it the recording session for whatever reason.
Among other things, Siedah went on to sing background on Madonna's True Blue album and tour as a background singer/dancer for Madonna a few times, including on one of the more recent tours four years ago. [[Also take a listen to "Like A Prayer.")
More impressive is that Siedah wrote "Man In The Mirror" for MJ's Bad album. Currently her voice is heard on radio and TV as the official voice for Toyota in Southern California.

^^^ WOW thanks uptight - I had no idea who she was - and I am surprised at all she has done - and to even have enjoyed her work - not knowing it was her.
So many thanks for the education.
I loved this album when I bought back in early 1984. Dennis Edwards had long been one of my favorite singers. I am happy to hear the re-release of this now classic. Dennis can still JAM!
