I think the 70's were best for ALL genres of music. R&B, Soul, Jazz, Rock, etc...

I think you can easily argue the 60s

Stax
Atlantic
Sly
Beatles
Stones
Who
[[British Invasion as a whole)
Monkees has some great songs too
Don’t know about jazz In general much less 60s vs 70s
