The entire series was released on DVD in 2015. It flew under my radar until recently. Blinky performs 2 songs on it as well ... it's in another thread.

This was educational for me as I've never even heard of this show. Pity it didn't last for long. Thanks for posting!

    You're welcome!

Many others appeared on the show: The Sylvers, Alex Haley, Beah Richards, The Spinners, Richard Pryor and so on ...

Pardon me if this is a dumb question but I really could not tell. Was Ann the one that had the solo spots and got all the close-ups or was she the other woman in the group?

More reason I think New Birth deserves an Unsung...The lead female vocalist
is Londee Wiggins aka Londee Loren at one point. She came into the organisation as a member of a girl group called the Mint Juleps and worked
her ass off for her position in the group. I assume Anne was the reason Johnny posted the link here as she was the only one with a Motown connection
because they were not on Motown but RCA.Their only other links to the company would be Susaye Green whom Harvey Fuqua used as a lead on
Until It's Time For You To Go. There's a lot more to the story but I don't
have the time to go into it. Hope this explains a bit....

Agree wholeheartedly! My older brother and I talk about Unsung quite a bit; I think that they are after a certain demographic that does not include those of us who want to see a lot more older groups featured.

What year[[s) was Ann Bogan in the group? Did she record any LP's with the group
and did she ever get a lead?

I just read that Ann Bogan is leading here:

That's her in the photo along with the Wilson Brothers.. This group was absorbed into New Birth.

I remember the show "Black Omnibus". It was syndicated and would come on Sat. afternoons and then sometimes on Sun. afternoons.

Didn't Leslie Wilson go on to join LTD as their lead singer replacing Jeffrey Osborne after he went solo?

Who is the male lead singing on this song. I know that voice. I think he was the lead with a Detroit mid and late '60s group.

Sure did. "Kickin' Back" was their hit with him.

robb, the cat singing lead if I'm not mistaken is a guy named Bobby Downs who was in
the group at the time but was gone by their next release. I expect it was due to some
disagreement with management or the Wilson Bros [[Mel and Les) or both. I don't know of any post or pre New Birth work by Bobby Downs, more reason for a closer look at
this group I still devote a lot of time listening to, to this day....
BTW, loved Les, hated his move to LTD...JMO...
