Was very catchy when I first heard it on my Motown Complete Number Ones boxed set - assuming it was an R&B number one somewhere between 1988 to 1990.
Today - "New" Motown [[1988-1992) act, modelled, marketed, promoted as the New Four Tops, like the Boys were New Jackson Five, Good Girls the New Supremes.
I know, I know, this one ain't Motown, but to show that this tune's started somewhere, Carrie Lucas' [[SOLAR Records) "Show Me Where You're Coming From".

^ Weren't the SOLAR and Motown offices in the same building at one point? Not surprised both labels took cues from the other.
It's cool. I was never crazy about this. My JAM was and is "Why You Get Funky On Me". Man I love that song.
They also had this track out at the same time as those two:
I still listen to this album. Every track is good. Didn't care for their second album at all.
