MARY WILSON - Motown album 927 - PROMOTIONAL USE ONLY

I came across something interesting that appeared on Mary Wilson's solo album, Mary Wilson, M-927. I have 3 copies. One copy is gold embossed in the upper right hand corner of the cover FOR PROMOTION ONLY - Ownership Reserved by MOTOWN RECORDS Sale is Unlawful. It is 3/4" x 2-1/2". Two of the other copies are identical but the gold embossing is in the bottom left hand corner of the cover and there is what looks like a "10" in the bottom corner and a "13" on the other one [[blurry though). The actual vinyl has nothing on it to indicate a promotional copy.

I have never seen this identification on any other Motown album. Does anyone know the background on it or have they seen any others marked accordingly?
