Piggybacking on PeaceNHarmony's post of "Aretha At 75 - A BBC World Service Documentary," here's an interview from 2011 with producer Leo Sacks. He talks about the making of "Take a Look: Aretha Franklin Complete on Columbia" and gives some insight into Aretha's years at the label. He also points out that although Aretha was only 18 when her first Columbia sessions commenced in 1960- the resulting album was released in 1961- she was poised, confident, knew what she wanted and was very much in charge. Sacks says that Aretha was "blown away" by the box-set.
