This is a silly, tiny question, but I have always wondered how this CD single came to be released. It seems like such an oddity to me.

Of all the insipid Xmas songs to come down the pike, this has got to be one of the worst. The Harry Simeone Chorale's original was terrible enough and made me crazy even the first time I heard it when it first was released. My brother loved it and made my parents get him the Chorale's album and he played it incessantly. Then came everybody else's version, and each one has set my teeth on edge. The premise is ridiculous to begin with, and, "Rum-pum-pum-pum?" I mean WTF?

The Harry Simeone Chorale's original is still my all time favorite version of the song.

I love the song and the Harry Simeone version is one of my favorites. The "Supremes" [[Diana and the Andantes) do a good job with it, too. But I will never understand marketing strategies that include whatever nonsense the above is...

Oh, yeah. And while I am being puzzled AND picky, why is there no “THE” in front of “SUPREMES?” Bad graphic art, too. LOL
