20-Bit Digitally Remastered Compilations

During the PolyGram era, The Temptations Greatest Hits compact disc was digitally remastered into 20-bit by Kevin Reeves at the PolyGram studios.

Does anyone know the process that remasters these and are there a limited number of releases that were remastered into 20-bit?

My copy of The Temptations' A Song For You CD mentions that it was 'mastered using 24-bit technology'. I don't have any other info about the process or what other releases used 20 [[or 24) bit technology.
