Smokey Robinson puts on a fantastic show for sure. I've had the good luck to see him perform live in Vancouver, Canada twice. The most recent time at the Burnaby B.C. Blues fest, he appeared on the same bill with the late Sharon Jones. Although his portion of the evening was more slanted to a Vegas act with go go girls, he presented a new arrangement of "The Love I Saw In You Was Just A Mirage." It had what I would call a "rock anthem" arrangement, and was vastly different from the Miracles version. At first I hardly recognized the song, and I am sure most of the audience had no idea of the song's provenance. I was totally taken aback by the sheer beauty and strength of the new arrangement. Since then I have looked in vain for Youtube postings of his live shows, to hear this particular song in the new version, to no avail. Has he ever performed this again?
