Aside from Lionel, I'm pleasantly surprised to see LL Cool J as hip-hop's first honoree. Also especially gratifying is the inclusion of the legendary and serenely elegant Carmen de Lavallade; talk about long overdue!

Great list and all real well deserved. I heard Norman Lear wont attend as he doesnt want to accept his Honor from Trump.

He will be there, but he is boycotting the pre-ceremony reception at the White House because he said that the current occupant is a "thorough fool".

However, I do wonder if Donald will be at the ceremony or if he will boycott it since he has no interest in the arts, does not support the arts, never attends Broadway Shows, even though he is a New Yorker.

I think he would feel out of place there.

Thanks for explaining Milven. Hes also trying to gut all funding to PBS I have to say Trump is embarrasing and real real vulgar imo and hes a horible president. Im not a fan of him or his policies to put it politly.

The President doesn't select or bestow Kennedy Center Honors. As Milven stated, Lear is merely boycotting the White House reception...and who could blame him?
