    The Supremes: Pure Gold

One of The Supremes 60's albums that was announced but subsequently canceled was titled PURE GOLD. Does anyone know the history of this proposed project and why it was canceled? Also, what tracks were scheduled for this release? Was the cover art work ever discovered? Thanks!

I think it would have been their first greatest hits collection had it been released.

It was to coincide with the initial launch of Diana Ross as a soloist in late 1966. Gordy thought better and held off on that decision and the lp postponed.
