I guess I fall into the "there's no stopping the music" camp. I remember back in the 80s, U2 did nothing to halt the stream of [[mostly live) bootlegs which were on the market and then would even extol their audiences at concerts to "start your taping now," according to some fans.
My local record store [[happy to say there's still a few in LA) is fully stocked with lots of bootlegs on Prince, and many classic rock groups such as Jimi Hendrix, Humble Pie, and others.
Back to the Motown bootlegs, I just purchased the Supremes C&W, Blues and Ballads, GIT on Broadway, Diana & Marvin, and Diana Live. I continue to be super impressed by the sound quality and packaging the seller lovingly puts into these releases. The Blues & Ballads doesn't contain much new to serious collectors but it's fun to have them all in one piece as it might have meant to be issued. The C&W sound seriously outpaces that of the long ago issued Motown CD [[which was Mono) and also includes the beautiful Stereo version as well, plus a couple bonus tracks.
