Belated Happy Birthday to Ann Peebles

The queen of Memphis Soul turned 70 back on April 27th. Also her signature song "I Can't Stand the Rain" was covered on a recent episode of The Voice and her name was mentioned aloud by Alicia Keys and also shown on screen. We never forget the great ones!

I've long been a big fan of Ann's and I'm glad to see her still here on this plane. Happy belated
indeed. I always loved her cover of Bettye Swann's Make Me Yours. Nice and stanky...
Alicia Keys is one the few individuals of her generation in the business that actually knows
the depth, variety and history of [[primarily) black music of the world. Can't say that about some of her better paid peers...

The Hi stuff was great but I also loved the Bullseye Blues comeback album in the early 90s. That had some great stuff on it.
