    US Motown 45s with picture sleeves

    Could anyone please post a comprehensive list of those US Motown 45s [[including Tamla/Gordy/Soul/VIP) from 1959-1972 that were released in a picture sleeve.

    There may be a few others after that point including some relating to the "Lady Sings The Blues" motion picture.

    Do you know why the decision was taken to give some singles a picture sleeve and others not? I mean, "Nihaa Shil Hozho" gets one but not "My Guy"....??!!

    Were singles given picture sleeves before they became hits or after? Was it done to promote the single? Forgive my ignorance!!!

    What we usually got was a paper sleeve with photos of the current Motown releases printed on them in blue.

    I compiled a picture sleve list many years ago, with pictures. Some of them have never turned up. So, if you have any images of the missing ones I will be very happy!
