I've been listening to a lot of Supremes albums this week and I realized Diana Ross made solo recordings long before she officially left the group.
So then...what was the first recording that Diana Ross made with no vocal accompaniment?

Hmm...
That's a tough one. I'm sure there are Supremes/Diana experts that know more than me lol
Top of my head guess, "My Christmas Tree" [[mono)?

The stereo mix has a backing vocal
Right, looks like I need to go deeper than the top of my head.
The First Noel...Or does Diana's spoken dialogue count?
The Andantes are all over that Christmas lp
What about "These Boots Were Made for Walking"? That's the earliest I can think of.

I've given it more thought..."With a Song in My Heart" [studio rendition[[s)]?
I Want A Guy Version 1 - On Expanded Edition of Meet The Supremes.
I always thought that was her first solo
The group was always misnamed - it just should have been Diana Ross
As best I can tell the first Diana Ross solo recording was Yesterday on the Symphony lp. The liner notes do not indicate a date where backing vocals were laid. From that same lp, With A Song In My Heart was recorded a few days later in late 1965 and was a Diana solo as well
I'm pretty sure there is a solo I Want A Guy on Meet the Supremes expanded; it might even be referred to as a solo
