"No Matter What Sign You Are" versions on TCMS/50th Anniversary collection

I cannot detect any difference whatsoever between the 2 versions of "No Matter What Sign You Are" on both TCMS vol # 9 and the Supremes 50th Anniversary singles collection set. there is no explanation as to the "second" version in the liner notes on either set. i'm wondering if this is a mistake.

there is a much different stereo mix available on the The Supremes box set from 2000. do you think they meant to include that version instead ?

The second version is an alternate mono mix. I had to play the opening part back to back a few times to realize they were different, although not drastically.
