Jr Walker & The All Stars - Take Me Girl, I'm Ready

How great is this record? From Juniors "sweet period":

Not bad but I think that 'Do You See My Love [[For You Growing)' was better. Also, 'Take Me Girl' was the last single of Jr. Walker's "Sweet Period".

One of my all time favourite Jr Walker tracks, along with "I Ain't Going Nowhere"...

That was another great record that I liked a lot. You are right, it was last of a good stretch of songs beginning around late '68 and ending here in 1973. His "sweet period"!

I love Jr. Walker's "sweet" period, too, Marv. Johnny Bristol struck a groove with Jr. that stuck in a good way. And "Take Me Girl I'm Ready" was no exception. But, I love the flip side, "Right On Brothers and Sisters", even more. Thanks to its shuffle beat, you could really swing to that sucker!

Johnny Bristol was masterful with his Jr. Walker & the Allstars production. Adding the female backing voices really smooth things out.
