    she may have "jacked it in" but because it was for the war effort as much as fighting you couldnt just leave.in th uk you could end up in court for the civvy version of awol.she was photogenic and a moral booster for the boys.and thats probably the only reason she was there at all.
    with out those women the aircraft production wouldnt have kept up with the attrician.

    we owe the rosie riviters,uk,american and elsewhere as much as the troops,airmen and sailors who gave their lives for us.
    factories were bombed in the uk and workers lost there lives,bristol aeroplane,filton england being one incident....so to all the rosies.RIP and thanks.
