Gladys Knight and The Pips: "Make Our Own" LOST AND FOUND :-)

Of course, I know that the Gladys Knight and the Pips "Lost and Found" CD was never released.

I am trying to construct this CD for use in my car. Many of the tracks have been released on the CELLARFUL series, the ACE CDs., and elsewhere.

Do any of you SDF fans have a complete list of these CD releases to save me many hours of research? In other words, the "unreleased" tracks that were not on their albums that ever came out on CD.

Thank you SDF fans -- in advance.

The cd could be "If You Ever Get Your Hands On Love", "Here Are The Pieces..", "Everyday I`ll Love You..", "I`m Gonna Get You", "The Day You Take One..", "A Bird In The Hand..", "A Man Is A Woman`s Weakness", "Good Lovin`Ain`t Easy..", "It`s Never Too Late..", "The Lonely Eyes And Lonely Heart..", "Just Like You Never Loved Me", "Somebody Stole The Sunshine" Alt.and "It`s Bad For You To See Me". Two others "I`m Gonna Make You Love Me" and "No One Could Love You More" were recorded in 1971.

I thought that there had only been a handful of songs released...

Good Lovin' Ain't Easy to Come By, If You Ever Get Your Hands on Love, Everyday I'll Love You More Than Yesterday, A Bird In the Hand, I'm Gonna Get You, The Day You Take One.

It still seems like there should be a few more tracks, if an entire CD was planned.

"Too Late For You And Me" and "Here Are The Pieces of My Broken Heart" [[long version) were also released. Two Coke adverts on Gladys "Joe's Place" are also available.

I thought this was meant to be a double cd? If that be the case then there must be several more tracks still lurking in those dusty vaults?

No worries honest man. I know we have had all the Supremes/Temptations duets released but i am sure there are several more Gladys and the Pips tunes still waiting to be discovered.

    Hi,
I'm a GK&TP fanatic, but I've never heard of this song--"It's Never Too Late". Anyone have a link to a sample of that?

Also, "Don't Tell Me I'm Crazy" and "No One Could Love You More" do appear on the A Little Knight Music lp. They're not unreleased, correct?

    Hi Largo,

Thanks for the "catches!" This is what SDF is all about to me!

We'll strike all three from the list. You are correct that two appear on A LITTLE KNIGHT MUSIC.

Someone suggested "It's Never Too Late," but maybe there's a title similar [[?).

As a big fan, have you thought of any additional tracks by any chance?

    Cheers!

    Hey,
Uh....I don't see "Stepping Closer To Your Heart" on your list. Does that count? I believe it was a flip side to Grapevine [[or was it "Everybody Needs Love"?), but was never on an lp release.

    @longtimefan

One other thing: I see you included "Just A Closer Walk With Thee", which did appear on the In Loving Memory lp. GK&TP's version of "How Great Thou Art" was also on that tribute record.

That's the same song as "Too Late For You And Me". I kinda suspected that was causing some confusion.

"Stepping.." was put out on a cd release. Master Series. http://www.pandamuzik.com/GLADYS-KNI...,PR-25339.html

Stepping...was originally the flip side to Just walk In My Shoes but it did feature again as a flip side but only on UK demo copies of Everybody Needs Love.

I was involved in that compilation and if my memory was better, I would remember what was on it. There were 20 tracks and I am trying to remember if the coke track was 2 versions. It was all so long ago. However, there is still at least one track that hasn't been released.

Nevertheless, that listing is a great selection....but you do have at least 2 tracks duplicated

    theboyfromcrosstown,

Which two are duplicated? I value all of the input that I can gets prior to my next version of
    the list!" :-)

p.s. I LOVE all of your postings about The Velveletees over the years. I "think" I have all of their releases and I had the pleasure of meeting them at the "Girl Group" stamp release in Cleveland a few years back!

These were definite choices for the L&F on Gladys Knight. There is still one track that sticks in my mind which hasn't been released..............yet!

Here Are the Pieces of My Broken Heart [[long version)
Every Day I'll Love You More Than Yesterday
The Day You Take One You've Got To Take the Other
A Bird in the Hand [[Is Worth Two In the Bush)
    A Man is a Woman's Weakness
Good Lovin' Ain't Easy to Come By
Just Like You Never Loved Me
    The Things Time Can't Erase
If You Ever Get Your Hands on Love
Too Late For You and Me
    Any Girl in Love
When Somebody Loves You [[You're Never Alone)
Joe's Place - Coca Cola Commercials

Of the ones I have omitted from your list, some may have been included but I can't remember now. I'd have to search out any notes I have and I am not at home to do that. I do recall another track that has since been issued on Edwin Starr.....a Dean Weatherspoon recording called "You Took Me This Far [[Take Me All The Way)"

I thought it had to do with royalties particularly Gladys' percentage.

No - that wasn't the reason. There were 2 compilations being prepared at that time and they were both cancelled. Glady's percentage would not have affected the cancellation of the two.

It's really no big thing. Priorities simply change and that series didn't fit into the new plan. It was the time of the new Millennium and Universal were now pushing for hits packages on all their artists.

    I worked on this instead

It is a great pity this collection was cancelled. It would have been greatly appreciated by us loyal fans who are always eager to hear material that didn't originally make the cut.

And you managed to put a few surprises on this disc! I wasn't buying the Millenium Collections until I found out some of them had different mixes on them.

That was deliberate on my part. My hands were tied as far as which tracks to include but HW allowed me to use alternate mixes. I did try to spread the word on these alternates via SDF and other sites where I was able to. I also chose some "not seen often" photographs inside the booklet - again, my hands were tied on the cover which HAD to be the most famous photo of the group so that buyers would see it and identify the group immediately.
