Motown book reviews in the Financial Times

Interesting and sensible article in the FT, with some pictures I hadn't seen before. Wonderful one of Levi, Stevie and Marvin singing together live on stage. Where and when did that happen?

It's probably The Roostertail in Detroit, with Ivy Hunter in the middle.....about 66?
I'd guess they're singing "Loving you is sweeter than ever"

Definitely not the Roostertail...Most likely the Chit Chat where Motown artists used to gather and Jamerson and the guys played regularly...

Below the picture : "Detroit nightclub in 1964: Levi Stubbs of The Four Tops, Motown songwriter-producer Ivy Jo Hunter, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye, with Dan Turner on sax and James Jamerson on bass"

That's a good article ~ sort of sets out the two sides of the story.

I think you see that reflected on the Forum.

Berry definitely left some bitter, unhappy people in his wake [[and his wake was huge).

A few people made so much money. So many people made so little.
