Any News On Teena Marie?

I really hope it's a sick rumor, but I just heard that Teena Marie has passed. I searched the web and started finding reports that it has been speculated on WDAS radio.

It has been confirmed by Radio Producer Sunshine Brown [[wife of WDAS, DJ Tony Brown), That it is true. Still waiting for details.

WDAS Radio Personality Mimi Brown is also reporting the story as true Here is a quote from her Fb page. " Teena Marie has died a few hours ago. It has been said that she died in her sleep and was found by her daughter Rose. Last night they has a party for Rose. It was her birthday. Teena had been having problems with seizures, but has kept it quiet. Not sure of what caused her death, but we Adore and Love Teena Marie. She will be missed."

Just heard the story on WDAS Fm from personality Joe "Butterball" Tamburro. Ms. Teena Marie has indeed passed. For those in the Philadelphia area tune in To WDAS-FM for more details.

Roland Martin confirmed it on his Facebook and said that he talked to her manager and that it is true.

@JFT, also she JUST turned 18 so least Teena lived until her daughter was old enough to handle what was to come, which is unfortunate. No child should ever go through that but that's life. My condolences go to Alia Rose and the rest of the Brockert family at this time. Let's not forget, her mother is still living. So it's terrible when a parent has to bury a child.

Motown's Ivory Queen Of Soul will be missed. Tina Marie has been opening for Frankie Beverly and Maze, and had a number of upcoming dates with them in 2011. She passed away apparently right after her daughter Rose's 18th birthday, how sad. My prayers go out to the family of the great Miss Tina Marie.
