There is no currently working artist who more authentically represents the music and spirit of Motown than Martha Reeves, or who more deserves to be in attendance as artist ambassador for the label at the opening of 'Motown : The Musical', at London's Shaftesbury Theatre, in February.

And doubtless she will be promoting the re-launched Home to You album too. I have noticed that she often includes Watch Your Back in her setlist these days. We in the UK have always had a soft spot for Martha, but it is good to see the support is there on the mainland too. She is a living legend, but she's much more than that. She's a vibrant contemporary artist too, reaching newer, younger audiences all the time, as witnessed by the success if I'm Not Leaving. She is also revered in the profession as well. Long may she reign over us, the Queen of Motown Soul.

    Midnightman......agreed, 100%.

I can't think of another Motown artist who.....

    a) has such a recall in great detail of their own body of recorded work, together with recollections which relate to many of those titles, and

    b) also retains a great knowledge and interest which encompasses the work of so many other artists and personnel from the heyday of Motown.

If ever there were to be a series of audio books giving a comprehensive history of Motown for future students of music, it should have Martha Reeves as the narrator.

True true True and Martha always takes the high road and never trashes Mr Gordy or Motown. A true lady and a great star.
