    Motown Girls and Girl Groups

Let's get a good discussion going with this one. Can we aim for at least 100 replies?

What songs can you list that were recorded by at least two Motown girls as solo artists or by girl groups?

    Examples:

"Love Makes Me Do Foolish Things": The Supremes and Martha and The Vandellas

"He Was Really Saying Something": The Marvelettes and The Velvelettes

Can you name any song recorded by three? Hey, how about four?

I will consolidate the whole list and post it after a few days at least 100 replies!
    [[smile).

p.s. Gladys Knight and the Pips may be included.

Are you sure that the Supremes covered "I Can't Wait Till Summer Comes" ? I know it was mentioned in Mary's book but it's not in the vaults as Andy said that after 'Let the Music Play: Supreme Rarities 1960-1969 [[Motown Lost & Found)' that was all there was!

And there may be other covers, Motown ladies by Motown ladies, post 72. Such as, "Love Is Like an Itching in my Heart", the Supremes, much later done by the Good Girls, although the former was still superior than the latter, but I'd still give it "B" for effort, of attempting to bring a classic to then-modern ears, in the name of the Motown spirit.

Good luck with your mission, Longtimefan!

    Apologies for any duplications.

While I knew quite a number of the titles listed, I would like to extend very special thanks to Keith Hughes, Ritchie Hardin and the very many contributors who have taken so much time and trouble in creating 'Don't Forget The Motor City' [[www.dftmc.info), thereby making it possible for everyone, including me, to use it as a fascinating and absorbing reference source, whenever the need arises.

Honestly, I could say Laura Nyro, with LaBelle, made a pretty snappy "Jimmy Mack", but I doubt outside Motown [[ including Linda Ronstadt, despite Motown 25) performers count in this thread, although they did in my opinion, the better "The Bells", although Motown guys doubly does not count in this thread either.
