It's beginning to look a lot of Christmas - though not on Amazon UK as yet as far as I can see.

This is a fantastic, exhaustive collection. I just wish there could be a physical release. I'm sure they could have put together a fantastic set of liner notes or booklet of some sort. But hey, this is good, too!

Thanks, mysterysinger, for the heads up. It's interesting that they broke down the tracklist into groups of 10 or so. It's almost as though Universal/Motown had originally intended to release this set on CD, devoting a separate disc to each artist. - Gary

Most of these are available on CD now, at least the ones pre 1972. These are: "Christmas With The Miracles" and "The Season For Miracles", The Supremes expanded "Merry Christmas", The Temptations "Christmas Card" as well as various discs like "Christmas In The City" which has unreleased songs on. There are more with recordings after 1971 which I`m not interested in.

Not to complain, but I think it is odd that they only list the titles of the songs and not the artists. If anyone wanted to make a selection of a few songs, they wouldn't know who was singing. Additionally, it's a lot of money to spend for a huge collection and not have the information about the artists.

Without the names of the artists who are singing each song, some of us wouldn't even know this and would assume that Stevie's music is included.

Did Marvin Gaye ever record a Christmas greeting?

And yikes, disc 7 is some garbage.

Working my way through this album and a few new questions come to mind that perhaps some of you can help with...

who on earth is Dave Prince?

who were the vocalists for the "Twistin Kings" [[if the Funk Brothers didn't do it themselves)?
