    Casey Kasem, former Detroiter was a part of my memories of the seventies and early eighties. Listening to his countdown program was a regularly weekly activity for me. I also enjoyed his television countdown show. As a kid, I did not know he was the voice behind "Shaggy" of "Scooby Doo & Friends". Great memories, great work Casey. Thank you and rest in peace.

    He died this morning in Grace Hospital in Gig Harbor, WA. The whole saga between his daughter and his wife has been playing out like a soap opera here in the Pacific Northwest, and in a way I'm glad he aparently had no idea of the drama playing on around him.
