Hello all ..
My copy of the new Kent/Ace C.D. "Dore L.A. Soul Sounds" came crashing through my letter box yesterday afternoon and I've been playing it to death since ...
This is the C.D. in question ..

There are a host of great new discoveries [[for me) on there .. such as "You're Love Belongs To Me" by TOMMY & LEON, which the booklet notes euphemistically describes as being "Sam Cooke-inspired" [[I'd say it is more like "Wonderful World" with alternative lyrics ), "On A Day When It Is Raining" by THE SUPERBS [[which is a simply superb example of Doo-Wop Soul) and "Temptation Walk" by ENTERTAINERS IV which is obviously referring to that much loved Motown group and is a totally different song from the tune done by JACKIE LEE ...
There are also better known items, such as two early songs from THE WHISPERS .. "It Only Hurts For A Little While" ...

and "Doctor Love" ..

And the track that I specifically bought the collection for .. "Gone With The Wind Is My Love" by RITA & THE TIARAS ... which is apparently the full length edit [[with an extra 50 seconds compared to the original Dore 45) first issued in 2001 ...

As I would have expected the sound quality and the booklet notes [[by ADY CROASDELL) are great ...
Well worth investigating ....
